Up Close and Personal

Today is August 1st. A couple of weeks ago, I decided that on the first day of each month, I would do something new and interesting! So today was my 1st opportunity to make it happen. As most mornings, I was out on my balcony drinking tea and hoping for BALLOONS to come my way. Sure enough, they did. I had my eye on one in particular because it was moving toward the apartment complex faster than the others. It started to descend-I ran for the camera, of course! I got a few shots as it lowered into an area that had become out of my view. "Bummer," I thought. Then I remembered that it was the first of the month. "What the heck, I'm going looking for it!" Did I just think that? Off I went in the direction of the landing and I found the spot! The man who owned the balloon said I could take some pictures, so I did with great delight! I spoke to the family that had just experienced their first ride. They were so excited! The process of preparing the balloon to be bagged and loaded in the truck was a sight to behold. I felt like a roving reporter! I wonder what September 1st will bring?!
